Advanced control based on artificial intelligence techniques is called intelligent control. Fuzzy logic is a way to make machines more intelligent enabling them to reason in a fuzzy manner like humans. Fuzzy logic, proposed by Lotfy Zadeh in 1965, emerged as a tool to deal with uncertain, imprecise, or qualitative decision-making problems. Controllers that combine intelligent and conventional techniques are commonly used in the intelligent control of complex dynamic systems. Therefore, embedded fuzzy controllers automate what has traditionally been a human control activity. Fuzzy control theory is an emerging area of research. At the core of many engineering problems is the problem of control of different systems. These systems range all the way from classical inverted pendulum to auto-focusing system of a digital camera. Fuzzy control systems have demonstrated their enhanced performance in all these areas. Fuzzy Controllers, Theory and Applications disclose different fuzzy control architectures organized in terms of the theoretical design and in terms of comparative validation studies in several applications, mathematically simulated or experimentally developed. Описание: This book offers a timely overview of nonlinear control methods applied to a set of vehicles and their applications to study vehicle dynamics. The first part on the book presents the mathematical models used for describing motion of three class of vehicles such as underwater vehicles, hovercrafts and airships. In turn, each model is expressed in terms of Inertial Quasi-Velocities. Various control strategies from the literature, including model-free ones, are then analyzed. The second part and core of the book guides readers to developing model-based control algorithms using Inertial Quasi-Velocities. Both non-adaptive and adaptive versions are covered. Each controller is validated through simulation tests, which are reported in detail. In turn, this part shows how to use the controllers to gain information about vehicle dynamics, thus describing an important relationship between the dynamics of the moving object and its motion control. The effects of mechanical couplings between variables describing vehicle motion due to inertial forces are also discussed. All in all, this book offers a timely guide and extensive information on nonlinear control schemes for unmanned marine and aerial vehicles. It covers specifically the simulation tests and is therefore meant as a starting point for engineers and researchers that would like to verify experimentally the suitability of the proposed models in real vehicles. Описание: This book reports on the implementation of evolutionary-game theory in the design of distributed optimization-based controllers. First, it discusses how the classical population-game approach can contribute to and complement the design of optimization-based controllers. It shows how the features of this approach can be exploited to extend their capabilities in the solution of distributed optimization problems, and examines density games in order to consider multiple coupled constraints and preserve the non-centralized information requirements. Furthermore, it establishes a close relationship between the possible interactions among agents in a population with constrained information sharing among different local controllers. It also discusses coalitional games, focusing on the Shapley power index and proposes an alternative method of computing the latter, which reduces computational time, as well as a different way of finding it using distributed communication structures. All the proposed strategies are then tested on various control problems, such as those related to the Barcelona water supply network, multiple continuous stirred tank reactors, various unmanned aerial vehicle systems, and a water distribution system. This thesis, examined at the Universitat Polit?cnica de Catalunya and Universidad de los Andes in 2017, received the award for best thesis in control from the control group of the Spanish Committee of Automatic Control (CEA) in the same year.
