Understand your brain for wisdom, stability, peace, and clarity.
Improve your critical and rational thinking skills by understanding the science of your brain. Being irrational and making snap judgments is natural. But you can prevent both if you know what cognitive patterns to look for.
Start thinking effectively from the root - neuroscience and how it impacts your critical analysis and thinking. Critical thinking skills improve your decision-making muscle, speed up your deductive thinking skills, and improve your judgment. In Neuroscience and Critical Thinking, you'll find widely usable and situation-specific advice on how to view about your daily life, business, friendships, opinions, and even social media in a critical fashion.
Easily spot errors in reasoning.
*Think slowly and deliberately before making a snap judgment or decision*Question assumptions and opinions (including your own) *How to gather information before jumping to conclusions*Accept and expect that human nature is ultimately biased and prone to make cognitive errors Learn about the most important critical thinking principles as well as shortcuts to make better decisions. *Learn the main principles of critical thinking.*Solve underlying issues, not mere symptoms*Find the most rewarding aspects of any opportunity*Detect the thinking errors of larger groups or individuals
Ask powerful questions to effectively self-assess.
Level up your critical thinking skills and save time, filter out irrelevant information efficiently, and prioritize your resources to get the best results.
Identify better problem-solving approaches rather than relying on standard methods that don't suit your case. Enhance your communication skills, reasoning, and logic.
Get to know your brain to have better solution to problems, solve difficult tasks easier, and understand the world better.

Автор: Clark, Robert E Название: Behavioral Neuroscience of Learning and Memory ISBN: 3319787551 ISBN-13(EAN): 9783319787558 Издательство: Springer Рейтинг: Цена: 186330.00 T Наличие на складе: Есть у поставщика Поставка под заказ. Описание: ‘Behavioral Neuroscience of Learning and Memory’ brings together the opinions and expertise of some of the world’s foremost neuroscientists in the field of learning and memory research. The volume provides a broad coverage of contemporary research and thinking in this field, focusing both on well established topics such as the medial temporal lobe memory system, as well as emerging areas of research such as the role of memory in decision making and the mechanisms of perceptual learning. Key intersecting themes include the molecular and cellular mechanisms of memory formation, the multiplicity of memory systems in the brain, and the way in which technological innovation is driving discovery. Unusually for a volume of this kind, this volume brings together research from both humans and animals—often relatively separate areas of discourse—to give a more comprehensive and integrated view of the field. The book will be of interest to both established researchers who wish to broaden their knowledge of topics outside of their specific areas of expertise, and for students who need a resource to help them make sense of the vast scientific literature on this subject.

This book presents the first comprehensive and systematic review of research on the value and desirability of different intellectual styles. The findings - from international studies conducted over eight decades - have practical value in both educational and non-educational contexts.
Название: Handbook of Learning and Cognitive Processes (Volume 6) ISBN: 1848723997 ISBN-13(EAN): 9781848723993 Издательство: Taylor&Francis Рейтинг: Цена: 56130.00 T Наличие на складе: Есть у поставщика Поставка под заказ. Описание: Originally published in 1978, Volume 6 concludes the survey of research and theory on learning and cognitive processes that was envisaged when the plan for this Handbook was sketched. The primary orientation in the planning the Handbook was to concentrate on research and models aimed toward the development of general cognitive theory. The first five chapters of this volume are organized in relation to one of the research areas that had expanded most vigorously during the period of planning and writing of the Handbook. These chapters treat aspects of psycholinguistics most closely related to research and theory covered in the other volumes. Perhaps the most fertile source of new concepts and models closely related to other branches of cognitive theory has been research on semantic memory. This work is given a critical review and interpretation by Smith in the first chapter of this volume, following which some lines of theoretical developmental leading "upward" into problems of comprehension of meaningful material are reviewed by Kintsch, then connections "downward" into more elementary problems of coding in memory by Johnson. Also, Johnson’s chapter shades into the very active current body of work on perceptual and memorial processes in reading, carried further by Baron’s examination of perceptual learning in relation to letter and word recognition. Finally, we consider inputs to the psycholinguistic system via speech and speech perception. The strong emphasis of Pisoni’s chapter on speech perception rather than production simply reflects both the predominance of research on perceptual aspects of speech in the current cognitive literature and the close relationships of this research to other lines of investigation of perception and short-term memory. Some knowledge of the history of the subject and some understanding of the way some of the more persuasive concepts and principles have evolved may serve present-day investigators better than boosting their reading rates. The final chapter of the present volume provides some documentation for this last suggestion.
