Invisible Truth is a story of love, loss, healing and belief. The young prince never expected to become so deeply intwined within himself and learn so much from a wise monkey, of all beings. After having a torturous upbringing that led him to resent his father, the prince went searching for something, although he did not know what it was he was looking for.
The prince was able to experience a life of excitement and beauty, but that didn't come without heart wrenching pain and grief. Despite having to experience darker emotions, the prince was able to find purpose, strength and faith.
'There is no wound that cannot be healed.' This is an important message and reminder to all of us who may not see where else we can turn at times. There will always be brighter days and new experiences to be had, and you never know who may be waiting for you underneath the willow tree...

Since the mid-1980s, the Islamic Republic of Iran has permitted, and partially subsidized, sex reassignment surgery. In Professing Selves, Afsaneh Najmabadi explores the meaning of transsexuality in contemporary Iran. Combining historical and ethnographic research, she describes how, in the postrevolutionary era, the domains of law, psychology and psychiatry, Islamic jurisprudence, and biomedicine became invested in distinguishing between the acceptable "true" transsexual and other categories of identification, notably the "true" homosexual, an unacceptable category of existence in Iran. Najmabadi argues that this collaboration among medical authorities, specialized clerics, and state officials—which made transsexuality a legally tolerated, if not exactly celebrated, category of being—grew out of Iran's particular experience of Islamicized modernity. Paradoxically, state regulation has produced new spaces for non-normative living in Iran, since determining who is genuinely "trans" depends largely on the stories that people choose to tell, on the selves that they profess.

Описание: Not long after her father died, Afsaneh Najmabadi discovered that her father had a secret second family and that she had a sister she never knew about. In Familial Undercurrents, Najmabadi uncovers her family’s complex experiences of polygamous marriage to tell a larger story of the transformations of notions of love, marriage, and family life in mid-twentieth-century Iran. She traces how the idea of “marrying for love” and the desire for companionate, monogamous marriage acquired dominance in Tehran’s emerging urban middle class. Considering the role played in that process by late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century romance novels, reformist newspapers, plays, and other literature, Najmabadi outlines the rituals and objects---such as wedding outfits, letter writing, and family portraits---that came to characterize the ideal companionate marriage. She reveals how in the course of one generation men’s polygamy had evolved from an acceptable open practice to a taboo best kept secret. At the same time, she chronicles the urban transformations of Tehran and how its architecture and neighborhood social networks both influenced and became emblematic of the myriad forms of modern Iranian family life.

Описание: Jamie teaches respectful use of personal pronouns in this lighthearted, multigenerational story.
Jamie is excited to spend the day walking around the neighborhood with great-grandma Bubbie. They meet so many friends and neighbors throughout the dayalong the way . . . but Jamie has to correct Bubbie when she incorrectly assumes Ms. Wallace is a he and their server is a she.
"You can't always know if someone goes by he or she or something else. Sometimes a person will tell you. If they don't, you can use the person's name or you can say they."
Jamie helps Bubbie understand that it's important not to assume a person's pronouns based on appearance, and to always use the name and pronouns they go by: he, she, they, or something else.
Jamie and Bubbie introduces children, through an accessible fictional narrative, to the nonbinary experience, the use of gender-neutral pronouns, and how to respectfully use personal pronouns. They will learn the importance of using the correct pronouns, and that sometimes a person's name and pronouns can change.
The story stays lighthearted and sweet, while diving into an often misunderstood, evolving topic, so children can build empathy and begin to explore their own feelings about gender identity. A section at the back of the book includes tips for teachers, parents, and caregivers for expanding on the concepts in the book and for talking with children about gender.

"We Love to Paint " is a colorful and fun story that takes us along on a journey of learning as three primary color paint brushes and their friend paper learn to work together. There is a strong teaching in the text and illustrations about how cooperation leads to great results.
This story teaches the young reader two important lessons. First, it helps the child understand how the primary colors interact to create many new colors. This is a great teaching tool as our young readers begin exploring art. Secondly, it teaches the child the importance of working together with others and how working together helps us create something that is even better than we originally expected.
To help teach these points, the story uses bold, colorful, and fun illustrations. The story starts out very simple but as it develops, the uncooperative spirit of the characters adds complexity to what seems like a simple task. As the story builds, the characters begin learning to cooperate with each other, which in turn helps them develop their greatest work.
"We Love to Paint " is fun, engaging, and uses its illustrations to teach valuable lessons while still being very fun to read. We hope you enjoy "We Love to Paint "
