Texte von Alexander von Aphrodisias, Simplikios, Johannes Philoponos, Michael von Ephesos, Nikephoros Blemmydes, Theodoros Metochites, Georgios Scholarios und Bessarion vorgesehen. Die Editionsbande enthalten neben einer uberlieferungsgeschichtlichen Praefatio und einem Text mit kritischem Apparat im Regelfall auch eine Ubersetzung in eine moderne Sprache. Weitere Apparate und Hilfsmittel werden je nach Textart (Kommentar, Paraphrase, Kompilation, Scholien usw.) und Uberlieferungszustand beigegeben. Die Edition der haufig als Gebrauchstexte entstandenen Zeugnisse soll entsprechend aktuellen philologischen Standards stets auch den historischen Sprachstand widerspiegeln. Neben einem umfassenden Handschriftenkatalog und einem prosopographischen Kompendium zur Aristotelesrezeption in Byzanz sollen die Studienbande der CAGB auch die Moglichkeit einer weiterfuhrenden exegetischen Erschlie?ung insbesondere fur einschlagige Neufunde und Fragmente verlorener antiker Texte bieten.

means--and that we therefore share an important part of our cognitive lives with nonrational animals--but also holds that our intellectual powers allow us to surpass these animals in certain ways and thereby develop distinctively human forms of understanding.
