The hour in which we live in this current world demands that the church comes together in unity according to scripture being led by the Holy Spirit. While I was at Promise Keepers I heard a statement quoted by Henry Blackaby that said "If society seems to be getting darker, there's nothing wrong with the darkness, its acting like its nature. The problem is with the light, the light is not shining as it should." Jesus said we are the light of the world and to let your light shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven.
In 1831 Alexus de Tocuqueville visited the United States. He was a French Judge and Political Writer. He became so impressed with what he saw that he went home to Europe and wrote "Democracy In America", one of the most definitive studies on the American culture and constitutional systems that had been published up to that point. In America he noted, the clergy remain politically separated from the government but nevertheless provide a moral stability among the people, which permits the government to prosper. In other words, there is a separation of church and state but not God and a separation between religion (God) and state.
In one of de Tocqueville's most frequently quoted passages, he wrote: "I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there; in her fertile fields and boundless prairies, and it was not there; in her rich minds and her vast commerce, and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good and if America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."
God will not judge any President for the condition of our nation, but he will judge the church. We can't bridge this Gap fast enough

Contributors from a variety of evangelical traditions share their personal stories for the sake of unity across denominational lines.
A call to action: God calls us to unite, but the enemy's tactic is continuous strife. Whose mold are you looking to fit into? If all Christians believe that we are made in God's image, why do we ostracize, shame, persecute, and otherwise hurt our fellow brothers and sisters? Are we not called to do His will? Are we not all God's children? The Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians that, "There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:8). Faithful followers of Jesus Christ are all joined together as one in the body of Christ. Every believer has an interconnection that shares in one Holy Spirit and worships one Lord (see Ephesians 4:3-6).
Evil has a way of inserting itself even into our most sacred spaces, seeking to destroy the belief in all that is good and ultimately dividing the Christian church. This can take the form of disparagement between Christians of different denominations and various forms of slander that sadly take place between clergy. Join us as we walk in unison through God's Word, the facts, church history, doctrines, and the belief similarities to call upon the unification of the body of Christ.

Описание: At the dawn of the twentieth century, while Lima’s aristocrats hotly debated the future of a nation filled with “Indians,” thousands of Aymara and Quechua Indians left the pews of the Catholic Church and were baptized into Seventh-day Adventism. One of the most staggering Christian phenomena of our time, the mass conversion from Catholicism to various forms of Protestantism in Latin America was so successful that Catholic contemporaries became extremely anxious on noticing that parts of the Indigenous population in the Andean plateau had joined a Protestant church.
In Sacrifice and Regeneration Yael Mabat focuses on the extraordinary success of Seventh-day Adventism in the Andean highlands at the beginning of the twentieth century and sheds light on the historical trajectories of Protestantism in Latin America. By approaching the religious conversion among Indigenous populations in the Andes as a multifaceted and dynamic interaction between converts, missionaries, and their social settings and networks, Mabat demonstrates how the religious and spiritual needs of converts also brought salvation to the missionaries. Conversion had important ramifications on the way social, political, and economic institutions on the local and national level functioned. At the same time, socioeconomic currents had both short-term and long-term impacts on idiosyncratic religious practices and beliefs that both accelerated and impeded religious change. Mabat’s innovative historical perspective on religious transformation allows us to better comprehend the complex and often contradictory way in which Protestantism took shape in Latin America.

This book focuses on the historiography of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is a study of the various ways Adventist historians have approached history. The author concentrates on select historians whose publications cover important issues for Seventh-day Adventist history. Such historians are recognized for their contributions, both published and unpublished, that are foundational to Adventist history and historiography. The book analyzes basic historical facts as used in the writing of Seventh-day Adventist history. It is analytical in nature by using documentary sources including relevant books, articles, and other research materials. It departs from using a strict chronological approach and instead focuses on major themes from Adventist history that illustrate Adventist historiography.

In 1784, when Americans first voyaged to China, they confronted Chinese authorities who were unaware that the United States even existed. Nevertheless, a long, complicated, and fruitful trade relationship was born after American traders, missionaries, diplomats, and others sailed to China with lofty ambitions: to acquire fabulous wealth, convert China to Christianity, and even command a Chinese army.
In America's First Adventure in China, John Haddad provides a colorful history of the evolving cultural exchange and interactions between these countries. He recounts how American expatriates adopted a pragmatic attitude-as well as an entrepreneurial spirit and improvisational approach-to their dealings with the Chinese. Haddad shows how opium played a potent role in the dreams of Americans who either smuggled it or opposed its importation, and he considers the missionary movement that compelled individuals to accept a hard life in an alien culture.
As a result of their efforts, Americans achieved a favorable outcome—they established a unique presence in China—and cultivated a relationship whose complexities continue to grow.
