American graphic designer Bill Gold (1921-2018) was the "Mad Man" of movie posters. His life's work spans seven decades and over two thousand films, and he was the man behind campaigns for the greatest movies the world has ever seen. The first movie poster Gold designed was for Casablanca in 1942. Over the next 70 years, he designed posters for Dial M For Murder, The Exorcist, Bonnie and Clyde, Bullitt, My Fair Lady, Get Carter, Dirty Harry, The Untouchables, Unforgiven and many more. Several of these posters became as iconic as the films they advertised, coveted items cherished by moviegoers all over the world.
