Daarnaast kunnen bijvoorbeeld maatschappelijk werkers, groepsleiders, psychologen, orthopedagogen en andere professionele hulpverleners die het kind goed kennen de lijsten gebruiken. De uitslag mag echter alleen ge nterpreteerd worden door psychodiagnostisch bevoegde professionals. Afname en scoringEr zijn twee versies van de NLD. De Voorschoolse NLD-schaal is bedoeld om de vroege kenmerken van NLD te meten bij kinderen van 0 t/m 5 jaar. Van 6 t/m twaalf jaar wordt gebruik gemaakt van de NLD-schaal. De Voorschoolse NLD-schaal wordt ingevuld door de ouder(s). Deze schaal bestaat uit 40 vragen. Bij kinderen vanaf 6 jaar wordt aangeraden zowel de Voorschoolse NLD-schaal als de NLD-schaal af te nemen. De voorschoolse NLD-schaal wordt ook dan door de ouder(s) ingevuld. De NLD-schaal kan door de ouders, een leerkracht of hulpverlener worden ingevuld. De NLD-schaal bestaat uit 34 vragen. Per vragenlijst duurt het invullen circa 15 minuten. De formulieren zijn zelfscorend. Met behulp van het NLD- profielblad kan het profiel van vaardigheden en tekorten van het betreffende kind zichtbaar worden gemaakt. Invullen en scoren kan zowel met de hand als geautomatiseerd via Testweb.
