Описание: Ezekiel's Visionary Temple in Babylonian Context examines evidence from Babylonian sources to better understand Ezekiel's vision of the future temple as it appears in chapters 40–48. Tova Ganzel argues that Neo-Babylonian temples provide a meaningful backdrop against which many unique features of Ezekiel's vision can and should be interpreted. In pointing to the similarities between Neo-Babylonian temples and the description in the book of Ezekiel, Ganzel demonstrates how these temples served as a context for the prophet's visions and describes the extent to which these similarities provide a further basis for broader research of the connections between Babylonia and the Bible. Ultimately, she argues the extent to which the book of Ezekiel models its temple on those of the Babylonians. Thus, this book suggests a comprehensive picture of the book of Ezekiel’s worldview and to contextualize its visionary temple by comparing its vision to the actual temples surrounding the Judeans in exile.

Описание: THE MESSIANIC TEMPLE: THE LORD IS THERE is a full colored illustrated book written by divine instruction concerning the Millennial reign of Christ on Earth. He will dwell with His people and reign upon His Holy Mountain, the Third Temple with His Jewish Prince on the throne of David to execute the righteousness and judgments of God over the nations of the world. He will rule with His Rod of Iron. This Temple is established in the Heart of God, and physically on Earth. It is the Restoration of the Garden of Eden on Earth and the total consummation of His eternal purpose of the creation of man in His image to be one with Him through our LORD Jesus Christ. He will thus, unite both Heaven and Earth together to bring glory together to the One who lives forever. In the book, therefore, you will learn: *The relevance of the Messianic Kingdom to God's covenant with Abraham. *The LORD'S eternal purpose for His Priestly nation, the House of Israel of whom He promised never to cast away forever (Jer. 31:7; 33:24-25; Rom. 11:1-2). *Salvation and the Restoration of the Hebrews to their Promised Land fulfilling the LORD's covenant with Abraham that his descendants will possess the Land of Promise forever. *The laws and ordinances of the Third Temple. *The true sons of Jacob - not the present Jews. * The LORD God will restore His Priestly nation as one nation and establish them in the Promised Land again, fulfilling His eternal and unconditional covenant with Abraham; to king David concerning his eternal dynasty, and His eternal covenant with the Levitical Priesthood. *Finally, why the land of Palestine is not the LORD'S choice for the rebuilding the Third Temple. The Third has been rebuilt, not in Palestine Land. The redemption and restoration of the House of Israel and Judah shall be by the spirit of burning and judgment. Only one-third of the true Jews shall be saved and make it into the millennium Kingdom (Zech. 13:8-9). For though, thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. (Is. 10:22 ) It shall correspond with the judgment of God upon the whole Earth when the LORD Jesus will execute the judgment of God upon the enemies of God and Israel, purge the land of all iniquities and idol worship; when His Glory shall rest upon His Holy Mountain (The Messianic Temple) and He will rule the Earth with His Prince. The LORD God will restore His marriage covenant with Israel and dwell with us forever. His resting place shall be glorious and the whole Earth shall be filled with the knowledge of His Glory. It is the restoration of former dominion, the Kingdom and the throne of David which was established in the righteousness and the justice of God; the establishment of the Messianic Kingdom and reign, of which the prophets of old prophesied. Isaiah prophesied that the government shall be upon His shoulder ...and of the increase of His government there shall be no end, upon the throne of David to govern it, and to establish it (Is. 9:6-7). This is that STONE that was cut out without man's hand, which smashed the great image of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream; the image that represented various kingdoms of the world and their strengths. His name is Emmanuel, meaning God with us. Angel Gabriel said to Mary: "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end". Our fathers and prophets: These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the Earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. . ... (Heb. 11: 13-17; 39-40).

The first twenty-four chapters of the book of Ezekiel are characterised by vehement declarations of judgement. This observation leaves the impression that Ezekiel 1–7 is devoid of references to hope and restoration. However, there is a redactional stratum in this section that supplemented the texts with material that conveys restoration and hope for the future.
In Ezekiel 1–7, many of these additions focus on priestly topics. The motif of restoration in the redactional material of Ezekiel 3–5 is expressed by the reinstatement of Ezekiel in his priestly role. This editorial emphasis on Ezekiel as priest in the redactional material suggests that the redaction was influenced by Zechariah 3, a text that depicts the reinstitution of the exiled Zadokite priesthood. Moreover, the redactional material of Ezekiel 6-7 drew inspiration from the Law of the Temple in Ezekiel 43-46, as the redactors sought to enhance Ezekiel’s priestly role.
The study provides new insights into how redactors, who may have been associated with the Zadokite priesthood, inserted the message of hope and restoration into the literary unit Ezekiel 1-7 during the post-exilic period.

Ezekiel's Temple liturgy, Ezekiel 40-48, is God's revelation. Its use is future, when Messiah is king on David's throne. Mystery surrounds it-no high priest, altered festivals, changes to Mosaic Law, and a return to animal sacrifice? Solving the mystery, this book shakes up our theology
This book first demonstrates the future necessity for Ezekiel's Temple and liturgy. Then we analyze the details of each component in the Tabernacle and Ezekiel's Temple. Details include priesthood, consecrations, Tabernacle articles, sacrifices, and festivals. It is boring, but this foundation must be laid. It allows us to identify similarities and differences. Similarities indicate continuation of Tabernacle ritual. Differences indicate changes for a new era. Sacrifices that cease are of special interest. These spotlight what Mosaic shadows have found their reality. This defines what Messiah has done as God's suffering servant. Christ's death made atonement for sin and therefore the Day of Atonement festival ceases.
As the mystery of Ezekiel's Temple unfolds, we make sense of God's revelation to Ezekiel. But in doing so, it radically alters our theology. Current thinking is that the cross fulfils all functions of the court altar. But if that were true, there would be no court altar sacrifices in the future In Ezekiel, the evening burnt offering stops, and all other sacrifices continue The cross only fulfills one of the functions of the altar outside the camp. Theological adjustment is needed on the cross and atonement to understand Messiah's resumption of Tabernacle ways. For Roman Catholics, Tabernacle typology proves no one eats the sacrifice where blood enters the Tabernacle. Jews hold to the eternality of God's Word, but they cannot hold to the shadows and miss the reality. Ezekiel's ritual changes Mosaic Law. It also forces them to find God's suffering servant during the existence of the second temple

Описание: Many books of the Hebrew Bible were either composed in some form or edited during the Exilic and post-Exilic periods among a community that was to identify itself as returning from Babylonian captivity. At the same time, a dearth of contemporary written evidence from Judah/Yehud and its environs renders any particular understanding of the process within its social, cultural and political context virtually impossible. This has led some to label the period a dark age or black box – as obscure as it is essential for understanding the history of Judaism. In recent years, however, archaeologists and historians have stepped up their effort to look for and study material remains from the period and integrate the local history of Yehud, the return from Exile, and the restoration of Jerusalem’s temple more firmly within the regional, and indeed global, developments of the time. At the same time, Assyriologists have also been introducing a wide range of cuneiform material that illuminates the economy, literary traditions, practices of literacy and the ideologies of the Babylonian host society – factors that affected those taken into Exile in variable, changing and multiple ways. This volume of essays seeks to exploit these various advances.
