Описание: Lacan and Education Policy draws on the rich conceptual resources of Lacanian psychoanalysis. Using Lacan’s four discourses Matthew Clarke offers a sophisticated critique of recent education policy and the neoliberal model of political economy within which it sits, including the ways in which education has been diminished and trivialised through the economistic and depoliticising moves of policy. Clarke articulates possibilities for thinking differently about education and education policy beyond the reductive narratives of neoliberalism. He argues that psychoanalytic theory is valuable, not so much for allowing us to see what education ‘really is’, but for offering insights into what prevents education from ‘being’, enabling us to shift our focus instead into the possibilities education offers as a space of ‘becoming’. The book suggests possibilities for conceptualising and creating ‘the other side’ of education.

Описание: It is unlikely that Jacques Lacan and Alice Munro were ever aware of each other`s work. Yet, because of Munro`s intuitive grasp of the complexities of human subjectivity and her ability to articulate subtleties and ambiguities, her fiction shares many of the insights of Lacan`s theoretical advancements of the same period. They are both concerned with bringing the obscure undercurrents of the psyche to light. Jennifer Murray`s Reading Alice Munro with Jacques Lacan brings the works of the writer and the psychoanalyst into dialogue, offering innovative interpretations of a selection of Munro`s stories. Approached from a Lacanian perspective, a close reading of Munro`s texts reveals the libidinal energy at the heart of the stories and offers particular insight into aspects such as shame and humiliation - feelings that Munro presents with disconcerting acuity. Taking into account stories both of childhood and of adult experiences, Murray analyses the child`s bewilderment as she confronts the incomprehensibility of parental injunctions and symbolic functions, while stories about women later in life speak of subjectivity in the field of relationships, where desire, and love are central concerns. Including extended reflections on fantasy, sublimation, persistence of purpose, transmission, love, and the roles of both paternal and maternal figures in Munro`s work, Reading Alice Munro with Jacques Lacan also reshapes literary debate on feminine subjectivity and sexuality.
Автор: Cassin Barbara Название: Jacques the Sophist: Lacan, Logos, and Psychoanalysis ISBN: 0823285758 ISBN-13(EAN): 9780823285754 Издательство: Mare Nostrum (Eurospan) Рейтинг: Цена: 96140.00 T Наличие на складе: Есть у поставщика Поставка под заказ. Описание:
Sophistry, since Plato and Aristotle, has been philosophy’s negative alter ego, its bad other. Yet sophistry’s emphasis on words and performativity over the fetishization of truth makes it an essential part of our world’s cultural, political, and philosophical repertoire. In this dazzling book, Barbara Cassin, who has done more than anyone to reclaim a mode of thought that traditional philosophy disavows, shows how the sophistical tradition has survived in the work of psychoanalysis. In a highly original rereading of the writings and seminars of Jacques Lacan, together with works of Freud and others, Cassin shows how psychoanalysis, like the sophists, challenges the very foundations of scientific rationality. In taking seriously equivocations, jokes, and unfinishable projects of interpretation, the analyst, like the sophist, allows performance, signifier, and inconsistency to reshape truth. This witty, brilliant tour de force celebrates how psychoanalysts have become our culture’s key dissidents and register, in Lacan’s words, “the presence of the sophist in our time.”
