Quantum information and contemporary smart network domains are so large and complex as to be beyond the reach of current research approaches. Hence, new theories are needed for their understanding and control. Physics is implicated as smart networks are physical systems comprised of particle-many items interacting and reaching criticality and emergence across volumes of macroscopic and microscopic states. Methods are integrated from statistical physics, information theory, and computer science. Statistical neural field theory and the AdS/CFT correspondence are employed to derive a smart network field theory (SNFT) and a smart network quantum field theory (SNQFT) for the orchestration of smart network systems. Specifically, a smart network field theory (conventional or quantum) is a field theory for the organization of particle-many systems from a characterization, control, criticality, and novelty emergence perspective.

This book provides insight as to how quantum information science as a paradigm shift in computing may influence other high-impact digital transformation technologies, such as blockchain and machine learning. Smart networks refer to the idea that the internet is no longer simply a communications network, but rather a computing platform. The trajectory is that of communications networks becoming computing networks (with self-executing code), and perhaps ultimately quantum computing networks. Smart network technologies are conceived as autonomous self-operating computing networks. This includes blockchain economies, deep learning neural networks, autonomous supply chains, self-piloting driving fleets, unmanned aerial vehicles, industrial robotics cloudminds, real-time bidding for advertising, high-frequency trading networks, smart city IoT sensors, and the quantum internet.

Quantum mechanics has been dormant since the early 1930s and our travelers were lucky to have tripped over its resting mass destined to be executed by a gang of over active coders to become just another artificial intelligence application.

Virginia, Bertie, and Jeeves took up physics hoping to understanding quantum mechanics. In the process they take a grand tour on an old sailing vessel and aid a sow in distress. On their journey they discover physics is not as difficult as they imagined. After dismantling physics they reassemble it in a form where gravity, the strong force, the weak force, and electromagnetism all stem from understanding a gambling strategy known as the fair-game.

We need characters to both lighten the plot and bring some light to the subject. The simple creations of P.G. Wodehouse can be dropped into any time period, but are particularly adapted to both the present, 1900, and the early 1930s when troubles were ignored. Our story about quantum mechanics is best told with the help of these characters who respond to a culture of fashion and conformity by cheerfully dismantling the nonsense and in the process shed light on the dark. The neutrino will now be in her proper weightless supporting role. That great cultural divide between science and the arts first expounded on by C.P. Snow was found to be a mere ditch that could be stepped over. The sins of the past were multiple violations of the conservation of energy, forced notions about mass, and non-physical geometries. By defining mass without the aid of the Standard Model, particles and their physical properties are much easier to describe. The electron now has structure and is no longer captured in a point. The structure defines the electrostatic field removing the need for the single virtual photon of quantum electrodynamics. The Gluon and Axion are also no longer required to shore up the nucleus. The God particle gets demoted to be another unstable boson. The action of our story is triggered by an EU directive to normalize pork production, eliminating non-conforming breeds. This puts a beloved and overly large sow in danger of an experimental program to automate faux schnitzel production using accelerator beam technology. These cave dwelling accelerator technicians picked on the wrong hog.

Rather pleased at having saved the sow and finding a gambling strategy to revive quantum mechanics, a text was left with a few problems for those who like to see how things work.
