This childrens picture book is a story developed by two sisters, Allison and Britni McCuddin, when they were six and four years-old. They are now grown with children of their own. When they were young, their dad would play a game with them before bedtime where he would start a story and they would use their imaginations to finish it. Tommys Party was created during one of these games and became something special that they loved and retold to each other.
Tommys Party is a uniquely illustrated childrens fun bedtime story picture book about sharing the experiences of a shy little red mouse, Tommy, as he moves into a new neighborhood and tries to make new friends. Shy Tommy works up the courage to go outside to meet the neighborhood mice, but becomes to nervous and runs back into his new house. Tommy decides to throw a party but is too shy to invite his new neighbors, so he makes his own friends out of paper and paint. The neighborhood mice hear the party going on at Tommys house and knock on the door to introduce themselves to their new neighbor, Tommy, and a new friendship begins. The unique imagery creates fun visuals to help tell the story. It is a story written by children for children.
