Skinner believes it is relevant to write about the ancient civilizations of Lemuria, Atlantis, and Mu so that mankind can be aware that more advanced civilizations in technology, personal awareness abilities, and higher consciousnesses existed on planet Earth long ago in Earth's history. While communicating with Ellowah about these three ancient civilizations, Skinner inquires about what happened to these civilizations and how their citizens handled dramatic natural disasters that affected them in the demise of their respective continents and land masses.
