Описание:

Scrum is a widely used software design Agile process. Scrum for Hardware Design customizes the scrum process for hardware and system design. It builds the process with the thirteen steps needed to design hardware and weaves them with traditional mechanical design best practices. Further, it provides two case studies; one from industry - Saab Aerospace's design of the Gripen E fighter; and one from academia - a student team designing a prosthesis.

Scrum for Hardware Design is a supplement to The Mechanical Design Process, 6th edition adding material on Scrum to the design best practices presented there. The two new Scrum case studies add to those already available in The Mechanical Design Process Case Studies also by David G. Ullman.

All books by David G. Ullman and additional supplemental material is available at www.mechdesignprocess.com.

I didn't go to college, can I still be a project manager?

Yes Project management requires leadership skills-not specific degrees. The more experience you have from the projects you work on, the better you'll get, and you will become more confident leading the teams.

Can the work be on-site or remote?

It can be both, since remote work is growing very quickly. Software tools have made it possible to work closely as a strong team, even when not located in the same place.

I've never been a programmer, how can I work on agile IT projects?

Fortunately, you don't need special skills in programming or anything else in order to succeed as a project manager in agile.

What if I've never worked in agile project management?

You will just need the right guidance to learn the fundamentals of project management. I've provided everything you need to know in this book for you to start now.

If you have prior experience with traditional project management, you will like agile more because of its freedom. No matter which industry you're in, agile is the way of the future.

The introduction of Agile Project Management system has brought a lot of insight into the project management and team development for small, medium, and large scale organizations in the last few years.

This flexible, responsive, and powerful process has also caused a massive expansion to the scope of project management, helping project managers and their development team to deliver incredibly saleable products.

What's more, in order to deliver optimally, developers of this software development process and project management toolkit has come up with several project management frameworks and methodologies that would help the entire Agile process. One of those methodologies is the Scrum.

We may ask: what is Scrum?

The need for project participants to respond to changes and situations that arise during the project management process is one of the key functional approaches of the Agile process. Scrum represents one of those Agile methodologies that provide such leverage for project handlers and participants to these demanding business requirements.

Scrum is developed to mimic a cooperative rugby strategy which promotes synergy and collaboration among team members even when working at distance. Scrum is technically not a project management framework but a methodology which allows software developers to "inspect and adapt".

It operates as a framework that consists of many other applications that can be used to implement other types of projects. Hence, it is considered as an agile project management tool. Typically, projects are handled either by individuals or a team. Scrum is a methodology that targets team. The focus of a team is important for development that would result in a saleable product even while project is still at full swing. Hence, incremental delivery system, technically called 'Sprint' gives team and project participants to be able to involve everyone in the developmental process.

Open and study this book to learn the following:

  • The Scrum methodology and its relationship with the Agile Management system.
  • Benefits of using the Scrum framework over other Agile process
  • Step by step procedure of implementing project using the Scrum system
  • The incremental delivery system called 'Sprint', which delivers higher revenue and saleable product.
  • Understanding the Sprint process and related concepts.
  • Scrum Flow and Agile Process

Just as one would expect that you ask yourself what benefits would this book be to me, or if you can make this book work for you. Guess what? Even if you have never heard anything about Scrum framework before, you can become Agile by just reading this book.

Again, applying the principles written in this book would help you understand the basis of managing projects and delivering quality products that will impact on its ends user. It promises to give you a fresh and new perspective to software development, project management and incremental delivery of product.

Описание: ★ Why is the Agile method one of the most used by successful Startups and Companies?

If you want to learn how to manage your company's processes optimally, giving speed, and quality to your team's performance, Agile P.M the way

Read on to discover some of its advantages...

Agile Project Management is a methodology you need to implement to get maximum business efficiency eliminating waste and reducing production costs; this is the most basic definition of Agile P.M.

The Agile method is composed of several "iterations" that last approximately 4 weeks, which helps managers because it makes the evaluation easier to perform regularly. Besides, splitting the project into several iterations allows managers and team members to focus effectively on development specific parts, thus being more focused and productive.

Scrum is one of the most used Agile frameworks. Initially, Scrum was born for software development projects, but it can also apply to innovative and complex projects. The work is completed and delivered in short cycles (called Sprints), speeding the development and improvement of a product or service.

The Kanban method, instead, is for designing, controlling, and improving production flow. Not every team completes what they begin; a mature team develops a clear understanding of these aspects and redefines decision-making from time to time to optimize results.

Therefore, in a healthy team, many ideas will be eliminated, only a small percentage will be completed, and the only measure of its success will be the ability to generate value.

Now that you understand the potential of Agile, and all its frameworks, how to apply it?

With this book you will learn:

  • Advantages and disadvantage of the Agile Method
  • Implementing Agile
  • Dsdm, XP & Crystal methods
  • Advantages of Scrum
  • The Scrum Team
  • Implementing Scrum
  • How a Sprint could make your life easier
  • The Kanban Method
  • Kanban Implementation
  • Kanban Boards
  • Kanban Certifications
  • Differences between The Scrum And The Kanban Methodology
  • The 10 Kaizen Principles
  • Advantages Of Kaizen Implementation

And much more

This book guides you in practicing these principles and allows you to obtain powerful benefits for your company's growth.

Описание: The so called "Spotify Framework", unlike frameworks or methods of the kind of Scrum, Kanban, Less, Nexus, SAFe, DSDM (or whatever the agile evergreens might all be called) is not a template that an organization can copy and implement. It is an example of a very successful approach to the topic "Agile Product Development" and is intended to encourage people to think and develop on their own. That is exactly what the experienced agile consultant and coach Alvar Lundberg does in his book. He shows the elements of the Spotify framework, explains its background and shows the reader how he can approach his own agile implementation based on these considerations and insights. He does not focus on specific methods but on agile thinking and acting itself. Learn to understand the Spotify model and how to use it successfully for your organization and your projects

Описание:

Scrum is possibly the very first thing that people think about when someone mentions Agile. It's no coincident, and this is the most frequently used framework that teams use. It provides the highest possible value for products, allows developers to quickly and decisively adapt to changes, and keeps them productive. Mostly, it's a project management super tool, and that has led to many companies using some core Scrum tools outside of software development. Scrum is very different from the other Agile methodologies in that it has a very strict framework, with specific roles and explicit events. There are rules in place, and there are right and wrong ways of handling change events.

Product Owners love Scrum because they know exactly what to expect from their software developer team even when they're entirely new to development. Working with developers, as a Product Owner, can be a struggle, to say the least. Imagine working with a team that must create a product that you could not possibly begin to put together. Scrum uses a combination of face-to-face conversation, documentation, and breaking the project into tiny parts. With this framework, there is no room for issues with communication, or for overlooking some aspect of the project. It is at its core the truest to all twelve principles of all the Agile methodologies.

This book covers the following topics:
  • Advantage and Benefits
  • Understand Scrum
  • Sprinting Cycle
  • Tools and Methodologies
  • Monitoring
  • Systems of Control in Scrum
  • Application of Scrum
  • Metrics in Scrum
  • How to Build a Scrum Team
  • None-Core Roles in Scrum
  • The Dynamics of an Agile Team
  • Is Agile Really Applied in the Modern World of Work?
  • Useful Resources
...And much more

Scrum does have its own set of values that coincide with the values of Agile. Scrum Values include courage, focus, commitment, respect, and openness. The Scrum values were put into effect with the goal that it was possible for any working professional to have proficiency in all of these aspects. The Product Owners and people behind the creation of the project will likely know that they want to use Scrum. That decision to use Scrum before there is technically a team in place allows them to seek out individuals that they know can deliver on the many values of Scrum and Agile. Like many other things, though, Scrum is easy to understand and hard to master. The method relies on the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and team members to all work cohesively at every step. Many people don't know how to work this way or come from backgrounds, which required silo-based work. Scrums longstanding success record is all the proof that anyone needs though to see that it works.

Scrum is the whole of the methodology, although people often use the term to refer to meetings, the team, or even the software itself. Those are incorrect because Scrum is the whole thing. It's the values, the team, the work put in, and the communication necessary for the project.
