Part One of Intellitoons contains our most frequently used metaphors drawn in cartoon-like format. As a puzzle-solver, the reader will need to decipher the metaphoric phrase depicted by each cartoon. The drawings contain as few as one, or may have as many as three or four clues. Some are quite easy to see, while others are extremely difficult. In all cases, these expressions are commonly used all over America--everyday
Part Two includes Collected Short Stories; some are metaphoric, of course. Many were written by the author, and where possible, other authors are recognized.
Students of English will find a number of ideas concerning the use of imagination when putting together an assignment for class. In fact, the story titled Gravity was made up by a high school student for one of her classes. The main story, Titanic, A preventable Tragedy, is well researched and contains many little-known facts about that fateful voyage in 1912.
Another story listed is the poem, The Night Before Christmas. It was chosen for inclusion in order to provide accurate explanations for such words as sugar plums, coursers, a lustre of mid-day, a shutter and sash; and why did Ma and Pa wear a kerchief and a cap? The definitions following each verse are for parents to offer explanations to little kids, as the questions may arise.
Each story is meant to entertain as well as cause one to ponder the reasoning involved in the story.
