Five creative takes on the evocative and elegant spaces of Foundation Beyelers Renzo Piano building
The work of contemporary artists Leonor Antunes, Silvia B chli, Toba Khedoori, Susan Philipsz and Rachel Whiteread provides various approaches to the space of Renzo Pianos exemplary museum building for the Fondation Beyeler. These artists create a specific sense of space--acoustically, as sculpture, or in drawings. In their appearance and presence, the works seem restrained and unobtrusive, but their effect is nevertheless strong and powerful. These works of art evoke spaces that lie somewhere in between the recognizable and the ephemeral.
