Описание: The Making of a Female Serial Killer

In Americas First Female Serial Killer, McBrayer offers us a complex―and terrifying―portrait of a killer who seemed almost doomed from birth. ―Kate Winkler Dawson, author of American Sherlock: Murder, Forensics, and the Birth of American CSI

#1 Best Seller in History of Ireland, Child Psychology, and Crime & Criminals

For readers who are fascinated by how serial killers are made. This book is for listeners of true crime podcasts and readers of both fiction and true crime nonfiction. It is for watchers of television shows like Deadly Women and Mindhunter, who are fascinated by how killers are made. Its for self-conscious feminists, Americans trying to bootstrap themselves into success, and anyone who loves a vigilante beatdown, especially one gone off the rails.

Americas first female serial killer was not always a killer. Americas First Female Serial Killer novelizes the true story of first-generation Irish-American nurse Jane Toppan, born as Honora Kelley. Although all the facts are intact, books about her life and her crimes are all facts and no story. Jane Toppan was absolutely a monster, but she did not start out that way.

Making of a serial killer. When Jane was a young child, her father abandoned her and her sister to the Boston Female Asylum. From there, Jane was indentured to a wealthy family who changed her name, never adopted her, wrote her out of the will, and essentially taught her how to hate herself. Jilted at the altar, Jane became a nurse and took control of her life, and the lives of her victims.

Readers of Americas First Female Serial Killer:

  • Will gain insight into the personal development of a severely damaged person without rationalizing her crimes
  • Experience the rarely told story of a female serial killer
  • Understand that even monsters were humans, first

If you enjoyed books such as In We Keep the Dead Close, Mindhunter, or In Cold Blood; you will love reading Americas First Female Serial Killer.

It is 2014 as four friends travel to Myrtle Beach on spring break to seek independence for the first time in their young lives. As Amanda, her twin Allen, Kerry, and Michelle have the time of their lives, they have no idea that a tragedy is looming on the horizon that will leave one of them hateful, jealous, and out for vengeance.

Three years later, Michelle is a makeup consultant who is full of confidence, self-love, and memories of the awful night that changed everything. When she takes her best friend, Kerry, on an all-expenses-paid trip to Texas, Michelle meets what she thinks is the perfect guy. Unfortunately, he is entangled with a woman who refuses to let him go and will do anything to keep him. Meanwhile, Kerry has been by Drake's side through thick and thin. When she learns he has been harboring a dark secret, Kerry must decide whether to forgive him or get back at him. As both women battle their separate challenges, Amanda slowly unleashes her anger at the one unlucky soul she blames for everything.

Описание: In June 1917, shortly after the United States entered World War I, James McBrayer Sellers joined the United States Marine Corps and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 78th Company, 2nd Battalion, 6th Regiment, 4th Brigade (Marine), 2nd Division, AEF. Wounded during the Battle of Belleau Wood, he recuperated and later returned to command the 78th Company. He led them through the Battle of Blanc Mont Ridge and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. The 78th was engaged in heavy fighting at Blanc Mont Ridge resulting in Sellers writing up the citations for two of his men, Cpl. John H. Pruitt and Pvt. John J. Kelly who both received the Medal of Honor. For his own personal bravery in action, Sellers was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the Navy Cross, two Silver Stars, the Purple Heart, and the French Croix de Guerre. He remained in the Marines in active service until 1920. James McBrayer Sellers' account of his time during the war is a fantastic look from enlistment to the discharge of a U.S. Marine Corps Officer during World War I. Starting at his enlistment and then training at Winthrop, MD and Quantico, VA, to the battlefields of France, the Occupation of Germany, and eventual settling after the war, this account illuminates a new perspective in Marine Corps history. His unique position within the Marine Corps gave him access to more sensitive information than regular enlisted men. This is shown through his letters that were slipped passed the censor, since he himself did the censoring for his company, revealing detailed information to his family in the states. He also kept track of locations and dates, as seen in the appendix. These, paired with his near perfect memory, create a very detailed and interesting account. This work will benefit any and all Marine Corps and World War I historians as a primary source and fascinating look at what it was like to be a young commissioned Marine Corps Platoon and Company Commander while in the French & German Theater of Operations from 1918 to 1919.
