Lacy Anna Cassitelli is born in Woodstock, NY in the Catskill Mountains as a Baby Boomer in 1952. She grows up in a small mountain cottage built in the 1850's in a lowermiddle class, Catholic, Italian family with her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. However, these amenities quit working as often as the family's old vacuum tube, black and white TV and the oil burning stove that they gather around in their small living room. They have an in-house toilet which has replaced the old rickety out-house, a luxury many homes on their mountain road do not possess. The Cassitelli's begin life with little money, yet they are a content, hardworking, and social group, who eventually become quite successful.
Under the umbrella of a pair of strong-willed, loving parents and, later, a new house built in the sixties full of kids and an array of critters and pets; Lacy blossoms into a smart, well-liked, and stunning teenager.
