Описание: "Tirari" e "Alzari" is the first volume in a collection whose aim is to examine in depth the engineering and scientific studies of Leonardo da Vinci. These were the terms used in the Middle Ages to identify systems for raising and moving large objects, such as machines for lifting columns and cranes, for lifting obelisks and winches, lifting devices and all those machines known and developed by engineers to help them carry out their profession. The authors aim to retrace the history of these systems, from ancient times up till the Renaissance, offering an exegesis that combines philological interpretation and a detailed physical-mathematical analysis, to facilitate a more complete vision of Leonardo's projects. The introduction of computer graphics, in fact, makes it possible to study and verify the working of Leonardo's machines, offering hypotheses based on historical-scientific evidence, strictly respecting the sources. With this knowledge, fifteen technical data sheets are provided, which integrate digital reconstructions elaborated using a 3D technique with operating information that describes the characteristics of construction, working and use of the machines.
