Описание: his book, published in 2011, is a product of the research conducted at the Center for Studies and Research of the Hague Academy of International Law in the summer of 2008. The Centre, devoted to the implementation of international environmental law, attracted twenty talented young scholars from nine different countries. This volume
contains the introductory report of the two directors of studies, in English and in French, a selection of the best papers prepared by the participants, as well as a general index and a comprehensive bibliography. The topic of the 2008 session is of both practical and theoretical interest. International environmental law, despite the rapid proliferation of treaty instruments in the area, is plagued by difficulties in implementation.
The search for enhanced effectiveness of international environmental law has yielded many innovations at the institutional and normative levels. In seeking to better understand these innovations, their emergence, deepening and diffusion, this volume highlights the major shifts in and challenges faced by international environmental law and, indeed, international law itself.

Cet ouvrage, publi en 2011, est le fruit des travaux du Centre d tude et de recherche de lAcad mie de droit international de La Haye tenu en 2008. Un total de vingt jeunes enseignants et praticiens provenant de neuf pays diff rents ont particip la session d t du Centre, consacr e la mise en oeuvre du droit international de lenvironnement . Ce volume comporte le rapport introductif des deux directrices d tudes, en anglais et en fran ais, ainsi quune s lection des meilleures contributions des participants, accompagn s dun index g n ral et dune bibliographie tr s compl te. Le choix du sujet des travaux de ce Centre r pond un int r t aussi bien pratique que th orique. Le droit international de lenvironnement, en d pit de sa profusion, souffre en effet de profondes difficult s de mise en oeuvre. Le tableau densemble doit pourtant tre nuanc . La recherche dune am lioration de leffectivit du droit international de lenvironnement a produit de nombreuses et int ressantes innovations aussi bien sur le plan
