Le premier est l’activation de strategies par les Wayuu, pour faire face et s’adapter a ce projet geo-politico-economique. Le second est celui des mecanismes mis en ?uvre par l’Etat et la multinationale pour installer la mine et assurer sa viabilite et sa securite. Les Wayuu n’ont pas resiste au « developpement ». Ils en ont reinterprete les perspectives afin d’envisager leurs projections de vie, a l’aune de leurs nouvelles conditions d’existence. Le developpement s’est progressivement constitue dans une dimension politique renvoyant a une theorie de gestion du futur garantissant les axes de la reproduction socioethnique wayuu. C’est a travers la production d’une politique de revendication identitaire que les Wayuu se sont finalement articules au projet minier, promis a durer trente ans de plus, sans pour autant se soumettre a son « inevitabilite ».
