Sam and Sofia: The Magic of the Stars, Woodhouse Brady

Twin girls Sam and Sofia move from Minnesota to Florida with their father to start a new life after their mom dies. The girls adjust to their suburban neighborhood and live life like everything is normal-- and boring. One day that all changes when a small asteroid crashes into a park near their home. Sam and Sofia claim the asteroid and, amazingly, they take it home.
The twins learn extraordinary things about the asteroid and gain magical powers. They dont fully understand how to use these powers, and they have different ideas for how to use them. Sam wants to use the exciting powers, while Sofia urges caution and private practice.
Victoria is a young woman on Mars. She is poor and lives alone in a small hole in a small town. Victoria wants the powers of the asteroid so she can rule Mars and have a carefree life. After landing on Earth, Victoria leads a small army of fairies who will do whatever they can to steal the twins magic. Sam and Sofia must live with their decision to use their new magic as they battle Victoria and her troop of fairies.
Sam and Sofia face great challenges and adventures as they use these powers to save their Dad, save Mars, and sometimes, save themselves.

Brady Woodhouse is a student at Capitol Hill Day School in Washington, DC. This is his debut work of literary fiction and is the first in a planned series in the childrens fantasy genre.
In addition to being an avid reader and writer, Brady plays guitar, performs in choral ensemble, and has been training in improvisation and commercial acting.
Brady began work on Sam and Sofia during fifth grade after his interest in the genre was sparked by reading the likes of Chris Colfers The Land of Stories, Erin Hunters Warriors, and J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter series of fantasy novels.
Brady lives in Washington, DC, with his parents; his sister, Taylor; and his beloved cocker spaniel, Princess.
Fun Fact: Bradys love of learning is evidenced in his attendance at school. Since entering kindergarten, Brady has not once been absent or tardy.
