His statement Of findings and conclusions of the com mittee studying the problems Of cardiac children is one section of the report of the Committee for the Study Of the Care and Education Of Physically Handicapped Children in the Public Schools Of the City of New York. The Committee was appointed by the Board Of Education in 1936. All Of its inquiries, which extended over a period Of more than three years, have been made by sub - committees. NO appropriation was given the Committee for the employment of technical and clerical personnel. The studies were possible only be cause Of the voluntary assistance Of physicians, educators and other Specialists who have given much time and con sideration to the problems presented by handicapped children, the provisions now made for them and the ways in which the existing program can be improved. Clerical and statistical help was provided by the Works Projects Administration and numerous philanthropic organizations.
