Wissensmanagement befasst sich mit dem Teilen und Verteilen internen wie externen Wissens in Organisationen. Der Informationsmarkt wird uber den Austausch digitaler Informationen auf Netzwerken, besonders dem World Wide Web, definiert. Weitere interessante informationswissenschaftliche Forschungsgebiete sind Informationsethik, Informationsrecht, Informationssoziologie und Informationspolitik.
